ASM Microbe 2016 Features New Data on Many Areas of Infectious Diseases

An interview with Bill Gates by Richard Besser, started off ASM Microbe 2016 in Boston.

In remarks made at the meeting’s opening, Mr Gates said that he hopes to announce the eradication of polio next year, stated that children in poor nations remain 50 times more likely to die than children in rich nations, and declared that solving the problem of nutrition is the greatest health concern facing the world today.

The session kicked off four days of presentations focusing on the latest data in many areas of microbiology and infectious disease, including antibiotic resistance, HIV, hepatitis, and much more.
