Weekly Influenza Surveillance Report From CDC

The map below summarizes a weekly influenza surveillance report prepared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Influenza Division. The estimates are reported by State and territorial epidemiologists.*

Compared to the prior report, for the week ending in January 7, 2017, we now see that Alaska, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, and Rhode Island went from regional to widespread activity. Local activity continues in the District of Colombia, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, New Mexico, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia. Georgia downgraded from regional to local activity and the Virgin Islands from sporadic to no activity. Otherwise, there is regional activity being reported in all the other states.
